Verse: Ephesians 1:18-19

I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people,  and his incomparably great power for us who believe.

Devotion
This is a pretty awesome verse and there are several points we could make. But I want to just make one today.

God doesn't invite us to just know about him, he invites us to know him.

Paul's prayer is that we would truly see and experience all that God has for us. The eyes of our heart being enlightened isn't a just learning about God. It's an experiential thing.

He wants us to experience living in the hope he gives us—the hope of our salvation. The hope that God has forgiven us and set us free. The hope that we can have daily relationship with him. The hope that we will eternally walk with him.

He wants us to experience "the riches" of following Jesus. To know what it means to be led by God. To experience his hand in our life.

I could go on—here's the question though: are you creating space in your life to actually experience God? Do you read the Bible in a way that lets the word into your heart, and not just your head? Are you taking time to worship? Are you finding him in nature, or relationships, or silence?

In what ways are you experiencing God right now? He wants to be with you, his invitation is open. Let's move towards him!
