Verse: 2 Corinthians 5:18-21
18 All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: 19 that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. 20 We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. 21 God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
Thoughts
I have always loved this verse that God has given us the "ministry of reconciliation." What a great ministry to have!
Basically we have become God's voice calling people to be reconciled to him! Notice it isn't a ministry of judgement or anger or being mean. It is a ministry of reconciliation. A ministry of inviting people to come back to God and find his love and forgiveness again.
How can we fulfill this ministry? How can we be people who offer salvation to others? How can we invite people back to God's love?
These are big questions, and not easy to answer. Today I wonder if you could think about how you can participate in this ministry. In what ways could you live your life in such a way that you are helping people be reconciled to God?
