Verse: Psalm 46:1-3

God is our refuge and strength,
    an ever-present help in trouble.
2 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way
and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,
3 though its waters roar and foam
and the mountains quake with their surging.

Thoughts
I read this today and I thought, I wonder if anyone needs to hear this today. Do you?

First thing: God is our ever present help in trouble. Ever present. By definition if you are having any trouble, God is present with you! No matter what you are going through today whether its trouble at home, trouble at school, trouble with relationships, trouble with illness—no matter what—God is your EVER PRESENT HELP. You can lean on him, rely on him, and depend on him. He is with you, right now, in the present.

Second thing: think about the fact that GOD HELPS you. Isn't that insane? The God of the universe is helping you. That's like working on a computer project and the school gives you a partner to help you and its...Bill Gates or something. GOD is helping you today.

Third thing: God is your refuge (protection) and your strength. He protects you and gives you the ability to fight back. He both guards your heart and gives you courage to stand up for yourself. You are stronger than you think you are, and God is a big part of the reason for this. You can have confidence because God is here, right now, to empower you and fill you ability and strength.

So if you are having trouble today, read this verse again over your life. This is true, today, for you.

Prayer
I pray that you would be my ever present help today God!
