Not An Accident

Verse: Acts 17:26-27

26 From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands. 27 God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us.

Thoughts
It's been a week since I wrote a devotion here because I was on a short term local missions trip in Philadelphia. I wanted to share this verse which one of the pastors we were working with shared with us on our trip.

Think about the fact that God marked out the times of your life. He appointed when and where you would be born. Think about that. You are not random. You are not an accident. And the time and place you were born isn't either.

What if God has you where you are for a reason? What if you live in ____________  because God wanted you there? What if you go to your high school, or play on your sports team, or attend your youth group, or are part of your drama team, because God wants you to be a light there?

According to the Bible, our lives are so much more than just biological accidents who are living out these insignificant lives. We are unique creations of a loving God who were put here on purpose for a purpose.

So that's the question isn't it? How are you and I pursuing the purposes of God in our lives? How are we pursuing the purposes for when and where he has placed us?

Prayer
Help me to see my life like you do God. As a purpose-filled gift that will be a light to others!
