Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.
Thoughts
This statement from Jesus comes after him talking about how some religious authorities in his day loved to pray long "showy" prayers so people would think highly of them. They were showing off basically. And Jesus says, keep it simple because "your Father knows what you need before you ask him."
Here's what I want you to focus on this morning. Your Father is so close to you, and loves you so much, that he knows what you need before you even ask him.
Think about that for a second!!
God is so close to you that he knows what you need RIGHT NOW. And then later today, he'll know what you need then! And tomorrow. And a year from now. And 20 years from now.
Your God isn't far away, distant, aloof, or disinterested. No. He is so close that he knows you better than you know yourself.
That is amazing. You are known. You are loved. You are seen by a loving and caring God.
Don't fall into the trap of the enemy that would tell you that you don't measure up, that you aren't loved, or that you are worthless. Nothing could be farther from the truth. You are loved. You are known. You are deeply cared for.
I think someone needs to hear this today. I hope this encourages you and brings you hope and healing.
Prayer
Thank you Jesus that you are so close to me, that you love me, and that you care for me. I am grateful. Please continue to be near to me, and walk with me every day.
