Verse: Colossians 2:9-12

9 For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, 10 and in Christ you have been brought to fullness. He is the head over every power and authority. 11 In him you were also circumcised with a circumcision not performed by human hands. Your whole self ruled by the flesh was put off when you were circumcised by Christ, 12 having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through your faith in the working of God, who raised him from the dead.

Thoughts
Two important thoughts from this passage. First - in Christ we see God fully. I know it can be difficult sometimes to handle all the opinions of other people about Christianity. I know that people will tell you that Jesus wasn't God etc etc. Even some people who claim to be Christians will tell you this. I know people will tell you that Christians have made mistakes and hurt people (and there's certainly truth in that). But the reality is, the teaching of Scripture is plain: Jesus was and is God.

Doubt and questions are a normal part of faith. You don't have to run from them - you can take them to Jesus and to mature Christians and walk through them. This verse has always helped me personally. When I get confused or have questions or have doubts, I remind myself to look at Jesus. Jesus was the perfect representation of God. When I don't understand God, I can look at Jesus. In Him I see the fullness of who God is.

Second - in him I also see the fullness of who I can be. Paul says "in him you have been brought to fullness." I love that. Don't you want that in your life? To be fully who God has called you to be? To be fully alive and fully healed?

I would argue that the fullness we long for is unattainable outside of Jesus. I think people can definitely find meaning and satisfaction and have a "good life" outside of Jesus. But I don't know that we can experience the "fullness" of the "abundant" life that Jesus has for us. When you are doubting yourself and your future, you can look to Jesus. When you are feeling insecure and broken, you can look to Jesus. When you are questioning the meaning of life even!!! You can look to Jesus.

In Jesus we find the fullness of God and we find the fullness of ourselves. Look to Jesus at all times.

Prayer
Thank you for revealing yourself to us! Thank you for loving us! I pray that you would continue to lead me to know you more.
