Thoughts
Have you ever had a friend who changed depending on who was around? Maybe they were nice to you when you were alone, but when certain other friends were around they ignored you? Or maybe you had a friend who was nice to you to your face, but then later you found out they said mean things behind your back about you?
What has your experience been with friends like that? Can you trust them?
See, it's hard to trust people who are constantly changing. It's hard to trust people who say one thing and do another. And it's hard to trust people who break their promises.
That's why this verse is huge. Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
You can trust him with your life. His love for you isn't changing. His grace for you isn't changing. The good thoughts he has towards you aren't changing. His promises to forgive you and redeem you aren't changing. Jesus is your Rock that you can build your life upon. He is not constantly shifting with good and bad moods, or culture, or even your behavior. He is constant and secure, and your faith in him can be an anchor to your life.
Prayer
Thank you that you are my Rock. Thank you that you never change. I rejoice in the fact that you are who you say you are, and I am who you say I am!
