Does God Really Exist?

Verse: Heberews 11:5-6

5 By faith Enoch was taken from this life, so that he did not experience death: “He could not be found, because God had taken him away.” For before he was taken, he was commended as one who pleased God. 6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

Thoughts
Have you ever been laying in bed at night and started thinking about the universe, God, and eternal life? Have you ever just started wondering, "what if I've got this all wrong? What if God actually doesn't exist?" Or are you ever in a class and the teacher or professor says something about how Christians (or other people of faith) aren't smart - that anyone who believes in the existence of God is just a victim of wishful thinking?

This verse tells us that anyone who wants to come to God must believe he exists. Kind of an obvious statement right? But my point is this: of course the enemy will attack this very thing if he knows it will keep people from coming to God! So of course we will struggle sometimes with doubt about his existence!

The good news is that it isn't just wishful thinking. There is loads of scientific and philosophical/logical evidence for the existence of God. In fact many philosophers would argue it is much harder to argue that God DOESN'T exist. Try to prove that!

If you ever want to learn more about actual arguments for the existence of God, Google "Reasonable Faith" and go to their website. Scroll down and look at the videos that articulate different arguments for the existence of God. The "fine tuning argument" is my personal favorite. Trust me, after you watch it you'll be like, "he definitely exists" lol.

One other thought. Evidence is good. But we also know he exists because he is personal.

This verse tells us that he "rewards those who earnestly seek him." Don't be afraid of doubt and questions, and don't allow them to drive you from God. Lean into him instead. He's not afraid of your questions. Earnestly seek him - which means - seek him and don't give up!! Push through the doubt and the questions and keep seeking him. He will reveal himself!!

Prayer
Thank you that believing in you is not just wishful thinking. Please help my faith to become stronger and stronger as I learn more about you.
