Verse: Galatians 3:26-29
26 So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, 27 for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.
Thoughts
I woke up this morning and took my dog out. And I was freezing. It was so much colder than I anticipated. I only had shorts and a t-shirt on. I quickly came inside and threw on sweatpants and a sweatshirt.
Why am I telling you this???
The part of this passage that jumps out at me this morning is that we have been "clothed in Christ." I love that image. Think about going out into the world without proper clothing. Think about trying to love others without God's love. Or trying to be kind to people who are difficult, without God's kindness. Or trying to persevere through hardship without God's strength.
The encouragement this morning is that when you wake up and face today (and every day), you don't have to face it alone. If you are a follower of Christ, you are clothed with Christ.
So put on the clothes of Jesus. Face this day with God's love, strength, courage, grace, and wisdom. You don't have to make the hard decisions alone, or deal with the hard people alone, or do the hard things alone. You can step into every situation knowing Jesus is with you. Every step of the way.
Prayer
Thank you Jesus that you are with me. I pray that I would lean on you in every part of my day.
