Verse: Matthew 13:33
33 He told them still another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like yeast that a woman took and mixed into about sixty pounds of flour until it worked all through the dough.”
Thoughts
Historically the message of the Kingdom of God has spread like wildfire! Think about it. Over 2000 years and it continues to change lives, free captives, heal, deliver, and encourage. In the most unlikely way, a message of hope for people who will love unconditionally, live sacrificially, and share in all things has revolutionized the world.
A little bit of yeast goes a long way.
So the question today is—is the yeast of the Kingdom of God getting mixed thoroughly into our lives? I make my own pizza and the first thing you do is dump a very small amount of yeast into the flour, and then mix it. And it disappears! It gets so thoroughly mixed in that you can't pick out the flour and the yeast. They become one.
This is what's supposed to happen in our lives. Our faith shouldn't just be a small part of what we do and who we are. It shouldn't be compartmentalized to Sundays and Wednesdays. God wants to mix in and become part of every part of your life. He wants to be influence you, and strengthen you, and help you in every part of your life.
The question for me and for you is, will we invite him in? The long journey of faith is surrendering more and more of our lives and our hearts to him, as we find closer and closer relationship to him.
Prayer
God I pray that the barriers in my heart that can sometimes keep you compartmentalized into some parts of my life would come down. I invite you in wholly. I want to know you fully.
