Verse: Proverbs 8:35-36
For those who find me find life
and receive favor from the Lord.
But those who fail to find me harm themselves;
all who hate me love death.
Thoughts
These are pretty strong words aren't they? Do you love death?
I mean if someone came up to you today and said, "do you love death???" You'd probably say no. I'm just guessing.
In Proverbs, wisdom is often personified to represent "right living" or "living in God's way."
So read this passage again: if you find the way of God, you find life. If you choose not to walk on the path of God you are therefore choosing to harm yourself....you are choosing death.
I know it sounds extreme. But I've done it, haven't you? I've chosen my way over God's way. I've chosen my path over God's. Longterm, this style of living will lead to death.
Now you might say, "I know lots of people who don't know Jesus and they are still alive!" Right. We are talking about spiritual life. Life in Jesus. The kind of life that Jesus said he would give us that would be like living waters flowing from within.
When we choose the path that is not the path of Jesus, we chose spiritual death. We choose to be disconnected from the life of Jesus.
Now, some people might read this and feel condemned. But that's not the point. The point is hope. The point is this is an invitation to us every single day. Today is a day that you and I can choose the path of Jesus. Today is a day we can choose LIFE. So let'start today!

Help me to choose life today by choosing your way God!
