When I Am Weak

Verse: 2 Corinthians 12:8-10

Three times I pleaded with the Lord about this, that it should leave me. But He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

This is perhaps one of the most encouraging verses in the Bible. Can you take a second and go read it again?

Seriously.

Right now, where are you feeling weak? Where are you struggling?

For me, lately, I've been feeling like - "do I have what it takes as a leader to lead my church?" I am trying my hardest but sometimes I'm just not sure what to do? Am I giving people what they need? Am I missing stuff?

Where are you feeling weak?

Because this passage tells us what God would say: "my grace is enough." His grace is enough. I can lean on him in my inadequacy. I can lean on him in my weakness. I can trust him. And if I do, he will meet my weakness with his strength. He will (1) give me grace to get through and (2) give me his strength to overcome.

I don't know how my story will unfold, but I'm trusting God as I give my all to leading this church. How about you? Will you trust God with your weakness?
