Verse: 1 Corinthians 11:23-26

For I received from the Lord what I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night when He was betrayed took bread, and when He had given thanks, He broke it, and said, “This is my body, which is for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” In the same way also He took the cup, after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.” For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes.

Thoughts
This passage is obviously about Communion (or "The Lord's Supper) which probably right now as you read this, you won't be taking. But let's apply this to our lives this morning in a different way.

Let's take a moment for gratitude. Let's reflect on what Jesus' work on the cross means to you personally. What does the fact that he died for your sins mean to you? How has his resurrection changed your life? How has his forgiveness bought you healing or freedom?

In a couple hours I'm going to be pastoring a funeral. At this moment for that family the resurrection is so relevant because their hope for their loved one is in the resurrection of Jesus.

But it shouldn't take a funeral to remind us of how grateful we are for the work of Jesus on the cross, right?

So this morning - what are you grateful for about what Jesus did for you on the cross and through his resurrection? Be specific. Tell him how he has changed your life. Spend a little time thinking/meditating on the agony of the cross and the amazing miracle of the resurrection and what that all means for your life.
