Verse: Romans 10:11-13
11 For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes in Him will not be put to shame.” 12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing His riches on all who call on Him. 13 For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
Devotion:
Romans 10:11-13 reminds us of the incredible promise God have given us. The Word declares, "Anyone who believes in Him will never be put to shame." Jesus is a firm foundation to stand on. We can rely on His promises to be true.
Before Jesus, there was a distinction different types of people, such as Jews and Greeks. People were separated by their lifestyles and beliefs. Jews were considered the people of God, while the Greeks were instead people of culture. Both groups were strongly tied to their origin and credited their success to being born into the right family. However, Paul is making a strong point here that is still relevant today. There’s no distinction between any groups of people. There’s no distinctions between class, race, cultural backgrounds. We are all serving the same Lord and all equally His children. In the end, all of us who claim His name will receive the riches of every lasting life with Him, no matter where He found us.
I’m in awe of His grace and mercy.. and so humbled by the fact that He made a way for us to be reconciled to Him, to be forgiven of our sins, and to have eternal life with Him. He walks alongside us every single day and guides our steps.
