Verse: Galatians 6:9-10
9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. 10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.
Thoughts
It can be so easy to become discouraged. Maybe you've been praying for that one person, and you can't tell if it's making a difference. Maybe you've been living a life of Godly standards, and it feels like everyone else around you isn't. Or maybe the way you are choosing to live your life is costing you - popularity, or friends, or in other ways.
Sometimes it feels like, "is this worth it?" Sometimes it would be nice if someone would pat us on the back, or tell us how good we are doing. Or if God would show up and say "hey great job keep it up!"
I imagine Paul sitting in prison in Rome writing some of his letters. I wonder if he ever got discouraged? I wonder if he ever wondered if all his work and sacrifice was worth it? Maybe his experience battling these feelings fueled him writing these words: "Let us not become weary in doing good."
That's the key thought for today, that I think God wants to speak to you: Don't give up. Don't give up. Don't give up!!!! Keep doing good to ALL people. And trust God that your efforts WILL PRODUCE RESULTS IN TIME.
Keep doing good, don't give up, and trust God with the results. He's got your back. He sees you and knows your heart and your efforts. You are not alone in all you are giving.
Prayer
Today I pray for encouragement, Lord. I pray that you would lift my spirits and encourage me as I continue to live for you, no matter what.
